Turkish court removes ban on Pro-Kurdish newspaper

by

Istanbul high court overturned an earlier decision to temporarily suspend Özgür Gündem. The decision to suspend the Pro-Kurdish newspaper was based on suspicion that they promoted a “terrorist organisation”.

Özgür Gündem returned to newsstands in 2011, 17 years after it was forced to close following the murders of 76 employees and countless trials due to its coverage of the Kurdish issue. (Source: Hurriyet Daily News).
