Serefeddin Halis, a former MP in the Turkish parliament has been sentenced to 15 years in jail on charges of perpetuating propaganda on behalf of an illegal organisation, Kurdistan Workers Party. Halis was prosecuted on the grounds of 10 speeches he delivered while in office, which the prosecutor deemed as supporting PKK.
