AKR calls for protest in Solidarity with Syrian uprising

by

The Syrian uprising has been on-going since 2011, and has led to the killing of nearly 10,000 protesters, among them many children who are caught up amidst protesting. The Syrian government has responded by waging a full-scale violence, using snipers, rockets, tanks and mortars to stop people protesting.

Protesters in Qamishlo raise the Syrian independence flag and Kurdish flag

Kurdish people make-up 9% of the Syrian population, and have been protesting in numerous key areas against the Syrian regime which has stripped them off constitutionally protected rights, and have treated them as inferior.

We call upon our supporters to join the protest organised by Amnesty International in solidarity with the Syrian people, their struggle towards democracy and a legitimate government.

Time: 12-2PM
Date: Saturday, 11th of February.
Location: London, Trafalgar Square
