More than 60 Kurdish activists put in custody this week

32 Pro-Kurdish activists have been arrested in association with KCK (Kurdish Communities Union) in Turkey. BDP co-vice president Fatma Kurtulan, and BDP executive Tuncer Bakirhan are among those in police custody. Several journalists and Human Rights campaigners were among those taken into custody earlier this morning.

Selahattin Demirtaş (BDP Co-Chair) said the raids “are immoral attacks against Kurds”. On the 10th of January, 20 people were taken into police custody in the south-eastern province of Sirnak in association with KCK, and on the 7th of January 11 people were arrested in Istanbul.
