Iran: Death Row Inmate Habibolah Latifi Transferred to Unknown Location

The human rights news agency Mookiran reported that Habibolah Latifi a 26-year-old Kurdish political prisoner on death row was transferred to an unknown location. Latifi is a student who was convicted of being an enemy of God for alleged membership in the Kurdish militia PJAK and sentenced to death early last year. The verdict was upheld in the appeals court. Latifi was taken from the general ward of Sanandaj prison, where he is kept with several other Kurdish political prisoners. His family and fellow prisoners haven’t heard about his whereabouts and they are very concerned for him.

Latifi is one of 12 Kurdish political prisoners currently on death row in Iran.
