Kaboodvand’s Heart Surgery Intentionally Delayed

Iranian Human Rights Voice  reports:

As has been publicized before, Mohammad-Sedigh Kaboodvand was convicted of establishing the organization called Kurdistan Human Rights, and he received an 11-year jail term.  During his 700 days in prison, Mr. Kaboodvand has been under constant psychological pressure, which has led to his weakened heart condition.  Last winter, Mr. Kaboodvand experienced two heart attacks, and prison officials transferred him to a hospital outside of the prison facility to seek medical attention.  Doctors in the treatment center advised him to get a coronary angiography operation as soon as possible.  Three months after the incident, prison authorities are claiming they have already reported the situation to the judiciary officials, but the authorities in the judiciary and Ministry of Intelligence are either not responding or they have not agreed to the continuation of the treatment, and prison officials are powerless.
