New HRW Report on Iran's repression of Kurds

by

Human Rights Watch has released a 42-page report titled, “Freedom of Expression and Association in the Kurdish Regions”. The report:

[D]ocuments how Iranian authorities use security laws, press laws, and other legislation to arrest and prosecute Iranian Kurds solely for trying to exercise their right to freedom of expression and association. The use of these laws to suppress basic rights, while not new, has greatly intensified since President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad came to power in August 2005.

The report can be read online, or downloaded in English or Farsi (PDF).
