Ailing Kaboudvand enters hunger strike to protest lack of medical treatment

Mohammad Sadiq Kaboudvand, an imprisoned journalist and human rights activist, is currently serving an 11 year sentence in Iran’s notorious Evin prison under the ambiguous charge of “acting against national interest”.

Kaboudvand has suffered two heart attacks while in prison, and is troubled by kidney and prostate disorders, but continued pleas by his family and prison doctors for much needed access to healthcare have been ignored by prison authorities.
