On April 7, Kurdish students at the Near East University in Nicosia were attacked by a group of between 50 and 60 people, reports Dicle News Agency. The group reportedly consisted of ultranationalist Turkish students.

2 Kurds were wounded in the attack that led to clashes between the Kurdish and the Turkish students.

Several students were arrested by police over the course of two days. This morning 48 of them appeared before court while 8 were kept in prison and 40 students were released. The police is looking for 164 more suspects on charges of “illegal gathering” and “planned property damage.”
