Former consultant of Talabani arrested in Ankara
Hatice Yaşar, one of the former consultants of the Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, has been detained at the Esenboğa Airport where she arrived this morning.
She has been arrested after being interrogated by the Istanbul 3rd Court authorized with the 10th article of the anti-terror law.
Having worked as the editor-in-chief of Ala Rızgari magazine before the coup d’état on 12 September 1980, Hatice Yaşar (Xecê) lived in the Kurdistan Federal Region for years.
She has been detained in Ankara with the charge of “coming to Turkey to continue her political activities.”
It has been claimed that arrest warrants for 40 more people along with Hatice Yaşar have been issued by the Istanbul 3rd Court authorized with the 10th article of the anti-terror law.
Hatice Yaşar is accused of “being a member of an armed organization.” Yaşar’s file also includes names of the PKK administrators such as Murat Karayılan, Cemil Bayık, Duran Kalkan, Ali Haydar Kaytan, Zübeyr Aydar, Remzi Kartal and Osman Öcalan.
Arrest warrants were issued for 40-50 people on 5 November 2012, Levent Kanat, Yaşar’s lawyer, said.
Yaşar has been put in prison after the decision of Halil Ibrahim Kütük, the judge of the court, to get Yaşar arrested.
Her lawyer said that the ruling is “unlawful and has been given without any evidence against her.”
While her identity information was registered, Hatice Yaşar said that she lived in Vienna and worked as a lecturer at the University of Sulaimani in the Kurdistan Region in Iraq.
It has been reported that Yaşar will be transferred to Istanbul where the investigation is carried out.
Update: Hatice Yaşar was released on the 10th of May.

TURK it is?
No coment!!!
Xece Xan, Hatice Yaşar, university lecturer, women’s rights activist and writer was arrested and sent to high security Sincan Prison with false allegations. Her only crime seems to be to defend and promote kurdish rights and kurds right for self determination across all 4 countries which invade Kurdistan. In order to justify the arrest, the turkish authorities have created a fictious illegal organisation which includes very unlikely members from the PKK’s ranks and also its politkal wings, including those who had left the PKK ranks already along with Hatice Yaşar, Xece Xan. Shes innocent of the charges brought against her and her only crime is to defend kurdish rights. Free Xece!!!
