Kurdish man shot eight times at nightclub for requesting a Kurdish song
A Kurdish man has been shot 8 times, and severely beaten after he requested a Kurdish song to be played at a nightclub in Turkey, Izmir. The man is identified as Gazi Akbayar, and originally from Tunceli.
According to CNN Turk, an investigation has been launched into this incident, and the attackers have been detained by police, but have yet to be identified. Recently, a Kurdish man was jailed for singing in Kurdish in Turkey. Earlier this year in July, a Kurdish singer called Aynur Dogan was booed off stage for singing in Kurdish while performing in Istanbul.

i think Kurdish people need more time to fix their rights . mother language and sing by it . it is nature of human-being. God give us . i don’t know they make it as a taboo .
Also two years ago one Turkish singer who was shot to dead by kurdish reason who was alevi and doesn’t know how to sing in kurdish.
My heart breaks for this man. In Turkey, which is a Middle Eastern country part of the Near East, I am angry Kurdish children as well can’t get an education. I am angry these Turks put this innocent West Asian man in jail because God made the Kurds. That’s why I wanna adopt two Kurdish girls from Lebanon, it’s so unfair that bad people live in luxury while some are left without an education!
Education is a blessing, not something to complain about.
Education is a privilege. I can’t and no understand the reason why some kids and teenagers complain about school, when there are so many children that can’t get an education. Honestly, this is stupid that they think it’s funny to drop out of school; those people that think this are completely silly.
