Even when the fact 2 opposed parties are fighting a conflict violently, the practices during war time reveal our stands regarding our enemy. For even in animosity other humans remain humans. Fighting with them does not rip away their humanity, our stands regardless of fighting, does that, removes the humanity out of us, allowing practices as these. It is the perpetrator who looses humanity, more so when they are soldiers. The Kurdish struggle for independence have suffered equally from all states where their lands now lay. It is the will of Kurdish women and men like those in the photos that keeps Kurdistan alive. It is surely equally despicable if they were soldiers or civilians. I am ashamed of the "international community" and how they handled it. The same silence was known during the Halabja Massacre, I would not be suprised if American companies were behind that also, probably some dutch companies too.
