Children jailed for being part of KCK in Turkey

12-year old Ugur Kaymaz was shot repeatedly in the back at close range in 2004.

Dicle News Agency reports that 7 people have been detained, among them 2 children with alleged links with KCK. Earlier this month, 121 Kurdish activists were detained on similar grounds, including a prominent Kurdish politician and former MP Mahmut Alınak.

The detainment of minors and students in Turkey has intensified in the past 6 months. At least 500 student activists have been arrested according to ANF since, many of whom have been arrested for protesting against state sanctioned brutality and arbitrary arrests of activists.
